Belorado to Atapuerca

Left the Alburgue A Santiago at about 8:30 (after watching the last day of the running of the bulls). Hiked approximately 21 miles to Atapuerca. We went from wheat fields and climbed up into mountain ares with pine trees and windmills. Passed through the towns of Tosantos, Villambistia, Espinosa del Camino, Villafranca Montrs de Oca, Alto de la Pedraja, San Juan de Ortega, Ages and finally to Atapuerca. We had planned to stop in San Juan de Ortega but there was not much in the town except a church with a perociial Alburgue attached (population 30). We moved on to Ages (population 50) before we finally settled into Atapuerca (population (160). We met Stevie, Conner and Harry in San Juan de Ortega and walked to the next town looking for an Alburgue, Harry stayed in Ages and Ben, Conner, Stevie and I traveled to Atapuerca and found the Alburgue we are in. Met a couple from Dana Point. He is a retired police officer from Glendale PD and he and his wife walked the Camino two years ago and decided to do it again. We all had dinner at some. Local restaurant where the owner made all the Nationalities sing. Stevie sang the Irish anthem, the Glendale PD guy (I forgot his name) sang On The Road Again and the Itilian's sang Bolara. We walk to Burgos tomorrow.
