We traveled through vineyards, forrests and barely fields all day. It was nice and cool. Met a nice couple from Massachusetts and the husband was a history teacher. He and Ben hit it off. We walked with them for a while but lost them 1/2 way through the day as we had a faster pace. We hiked about 13 miles to Los Arcos which is a really cool small town with an old church in the middle of town. Ben took a nap while I explored the town. I visited the church and made Ben get up and see the last part of Mass being conducted. It was neat because they were conducting the Mass in French or Bausqe (not sure which). The church was built in 1734 and is still in it's original shape. We saw our friends from earlier in the day (from Massachusetts) and had a great dinner with them in the square next to the church. Tomorrow it is 18 miles to Logrono. I splurged and reserved a hostel (double room wih a shared bath). Tonight we are at Alburgue casa de la Abuela in a dormitory of 3 bunk beds with 4 young French girls...life could be worse.
Sounds like you had a great day. I've been trying to google where you are each day. Read about the water and wine fountains, wondered how far you wold get after that, being earlier in your days hike, lol. Love the churches and the small village streets. Keep on trekkin.....
