Pamplona to Puente La Reina
We had a very nice evening in Pamplona before starting a grueling 16 miles to Puente La Reina. I have attached a picture of Pamplona's City Hall on the day we arrived and last night. You can see how the city is getting ready for the festival of San Fermin. We had a great dinner on the square of Plaza del Castillo. We left at about 8:00 am and walked about a hour or so to get to outskirts of Pamplona. We then had to hike up 1,200 feet to the top Alto del Perdon where there are huge windmills and the famous sculpture of medieval pilgrims. Then it was back down the mountain through sunflower fields. It was around 90 as we headed down with very little shade. Finally got to Alburgue Jakue where we are at tonight.

Looks like a dry, toasty hike. Looked up the alburgue, looks nice. Just has to be an awesome trip. Keep on trekkin.....
ReplyDeleteThe other more modern statue you passed is believed to be Mary and Joseph with star of Bethlehem between them. Pretty cool. Keep on trekkin....
