Puente la Reina to Estella

We left Puente la Reina where we had stayed at the Alburge Jakue. This was a very nice Alburgue and was made better by splurging an extra 15 euro and getting a private room with bath. It was very nice and it had 1 English speaking channel (CNBC) where I watched the golf tournament. We had dinner at the Alburgue which was a buffet. It was very good. We loaded up with salads and fruits since it seems the only thing you eat here is bread. We met our friend Edith from New York who we had dinner with in Zubiri and Pamplona. When we left her in Pamplona she was not sure what she was going to do since she had injured her while trying to climb the Pyranese in one day on the first day. She said she went to the pharmacy and got 650 mg of ibuprofen and it seems to work and also having her bag transported to the next town.

We hit the road about 8 am and stopped for coffee and a croissant. We passed through the towns of Manero and Cirauqui before stopping in Lorca for lunch of a salami sandwich (more bread) and some sort of potato quiche thing they sell in every bar in Spain. Ben loves them? We hit the road and made it to Estella at about 3:30....just about the time it started to rain. We found a municipal Alburgue outside of town which looks like a former school or some sort institution. Very strange and we seem to be the only ones here. I have attached a picture of the room we are staying at. Did not know how nice we had it at the last Alburgue. We walked a total of 14.5 miles today. Tomorrow we head to the next town of Los Arcos.
